Hey Guys! Sorry it has been so long since I've posted- second semester senior year has been a whirl win to say the least!
My team is at the height of our competition season, with only four weeks and our most important races left on the schedule it is absolutely crunch time. The weather, until recently has been rather dismal, and cold- but it looks like spring is finally starting to swing around and it'll be sunny and warm for the end of the year! This weekend we are heading to New Jersey to compete at the Knecht Cup on the Cooper River. There are 30 different schools competing at this two day regatta and the Eagles are so ready to take first!
With classes coming to an end; projects, papers, and exams have been piling up! On top of that, interviews and job hunting is practically a full time job in itself!
Speaking of interviews, the idea of actually graduating college is definitely knocking on our door more and more every day! My dreams of what the next chapter of my life is going to look like are becoming less like dreams, and more of a reality... as cheesy as that is to say!
Step 1: Job
Step 2: Apartment in the City
(some fun apartment ideas above)
Step 3: Get a puppy
(although my impatience might move this to be step 1)
Step 4: No clue!
I think that is probably the most terrifying part of the next chapter of my life, having no clue! Since I have been in school, things have been pretty laid out for me in terms of what I spent my time doing, with little actual choice in the matter.
From K-12th grade, your main job is to go to school. I have always played sports... so you could say that was a personal choice, but even with that you choose to play a sport, tryout and make a team, and then theres another schedule that you commit to honor with someone else telling you where to be, and when.
Graduating high school comes with a big decision... quote obviously where to go to college! Additionally I had made the decision to row competitively at a division 1 program in college, and that time commitment is unlike anything else. Again, making a personal choice of committing to a team for 4 years and taking on the responsibility of that schedule.
When you boil it down, the past 16 years of my life have been spent deciding what classes to take, what sports to play, and what summer jobs/internships to go for. Not too much variance huh?
Now that it's finally the time for the Class of 2013 to graduate, I am definitely realizing that every choice of what to do with my time going forward, is mine. Going through college you think you have an idea of what life post-grad will be like, or what you really want to do... but in my personal experience, as that time actually comes around- you realize that the opportunities truly are endless, and that is most overwhelming of all!
Here's what I know, I want to stay in Boston- because I love love love this city, it's close to my family and friends, and I couldn't imagine myself anywhere else. I eventually want to end up in the advertising industry and I'm willing to do whatever it takes to get there. I want to continue to row competitively and join the RBC blue and white stripes. And most importantly I want to have fun, and enjoy everything new and exciting about this next adventure in my life!
Y havent u posted in long time?
